When an MVP is not an MVP
MFS != MVP. Ugh. I can't even.
I was in a Clubhouse room on MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) and I heard this gem:
"I think an MVP is when you build something that eventually 10 people might start using."
Now, full disclosure: I'm on the extreme, design-thinking side where an MVP could be a literal napkin sketch put in the face of a potential user.
What this engineer was talking about was more of a Minimum Feature Set (MFS, or, the smallest amount of features of your product to build to satisfy a customer) rather then testing a business idea using an, often disposable, MVP.
We could go into semantics all day, but I really do take an aggressive approach that you can learn so much about what your potential customers will ACTUALLY DO instead of what features to build next. Especially when going from Zero to One.
